City of Abbotsford Public Works Yard – Fleet Electrification

City of Abbotsford Public Works Yard - Fleet Electrification d
Archos Engineering Consultants provided electrical engineering services to design a new Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure system for the City of Abbotsford. The project involved designing the electrical distribution system for an existing property at 31739 King Road in Abbotsford, BC.
Our team designed a new main electrical room, sub-electrical rooms throughout the property, and the associated infrastructure for each EV charging station location. The load from the existing electrical room was amalgamated with the new one. Our team worked closely with the client to ensure that the design met the site’s specific requirements and that the system was efficient and reliable.
The site was serviced by a BC Hydro pad-mounted transformer, and there were 132 Level 2 charging stations and 2 Level 3 charging stations (DCFC). Our team considered the load characteristics, fleet charging profile, existing load profile, and charging strategies to determine load-sharing options.
Throughout the project, our team remained committed to providing high-quality electrical engineering services, working closely with the client to meet their needs. We provided technical expertise and advice to ensure that the design was efficient and reliable, and that the electrical distribution system met the unique requirements of the EV infrastructure system.
